I arrived to the courthouse at 10 am. I looked at the court listings posted there only to discover much to my horror that the Basi, Basi, Virk trial was listed as starting at 9 am in courtroom 73. At 10 am another trial was listed as starting. This is not the first time that the time has been changed after it was listed on this website. What are they trying to hide?

Mary, I'm not trying to be disagreeable, but I personally cannot find any mention of Dave Basi in this morning's court listings - only Aneal and Bobby Virk. I thought that was peculiar even before I looked at your notice here and saw all three names.

Of course this psuedo-trial, kabuki rehearsal or whatever it is, tends to continually raise the bar as far as what is considered peculiar. What once may have been strange is everyday business as usual under the Soup Nazi and his Crackers.

Gosh, Koot, I didn't write "Vancouver" on the notification either! Ooooo.

So, do you figure that Dave Basi has been let off scot-free or something?

I did note that "and others" are listed.

But am not too worried about this misdemeanor (Court Clerk's or BC Mary's) for the moment.

Am more concerned to know what happened in court.

The special prosecutor has played games with the timing of hearings before - not surprised by his ongoing disregard for the people of bc.

Thankfully, ol' Bill's appeal of Justice Bennett decision regarding a secret witness will not be changed. June 9-11 with the times set at normal sitting times.

EXPRESS COLLISION SHOP SAID,

COMPLIANCE ISSUES ?

Here we go again, not another Bait and Switch. Someone call the Competition Bureau.

Speaking of the Competition Bureau. Is it true that the Competition Bureau could step in if CN Rail has not lived up to their commitments with this federal agency over the BC Rail merger ? According to the Consent Agreement(on Comp. website under search BC Rail) from 2004 there is a mess load of issues that CN has to live up to regarding anti competitive issues and the merger. This document has some painful reading and keener eyes and a handful of lawyers should go through. The Comp. Bureau definitly had many concerns regarding this transaction. I heard a rumour a few months ago surrounding grain shipments and the tracks of BC. Seems there was some big buyouts within the large grain handling companies(more on Comp. website) and also with the BC Rail merger. Seems that maybe there is some monitoring from the Comp. B. and the tracks of BC. No news from the Comp. B. I guess they can't confirm or deny if there is any monitoring.

With all the derailments and safety concerns over the past few years, it does bring up some concerns. Going back to the concerns about competition on BC's tracks from 2001(on this website under Comp. B. of Canada, also good article on smaller lines in BC and liberal contributers) it seems the tracks of BC has had the Comp. B. very busy over the years. Sharper eyes than mine may find something on this, however it does raise some thoughts if it is true. There are some time limits on the monitoring and I for one would love to find out more. Maybe I am just grasping at straws.

I was there this morning, interviewed defence lawyers afterwards and will post full proceedings on my blog:
