BASI-VIRK: Wrangling over vetting and hints of techniques the RCMP wants kept secret, reports Bill Tieleman

.
Slow plodding, with glimpses of something interesting the RCMP wants hidden.

But tomorrow morning early, says Bill Tieleman, something momentous may be coming.

So it won't be another Seinfeld episode where the old gang gets together and ... yadda yadda yadda ... then nothing happens. No, tomorrow (we hope) will be different ...

Tomorrow, Thursday November 27, 2008, early ... something BIG may happen. Let's everybody be there?? Please? - BC Mary

Comments:
For those confused, the something big is the Supreme Court of Canada decision on whether to grant leave to appeal to Special Prosecutor Bill Berardino on the issue of the secret witness testimony. If leave is granted, the case could be delayed from going to trial for up to another year - if leave is denied, it could kill the case - or get it going.

Her Majesty the Queen v. Bobby Singh Virk et al. (B.C.) (Criminal) (By Leave) (32719)

(The motions to expedite the application for leave to appeal and to seal the responses by the respondents Udhe Singh (Dave) Basi and Bobby Singh Virk are granted. The application for leave to appeal and the applications for leave to cross-appeal are granted.
