BC LIBERALS: STOP LYING ABOUT BC RAIL

.

No Minister Bond, it wasn't 'bankrupt' or debt-laden or 'in disarray'. Here's proof BC Rail was very healthy when Campbell got it.

:

The fact is that BC Rail was a profitable company before the B.C. Liberals took power. 23 consecutive years of operating profits and 18 years with net income were recorded by the Crown corporation during the late 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. Indeed, over that period the rail company sent $137.7 million in dividends to the provincial treasury.

Yet, the B.C. Liberals' lies about BC Rail persist to the present time and continue to be told in the Legislative Assembly.

This valuable column, in full, is HERE. Many special thanks to Will McMartin and The Tyee.

O.M.G. - if I could bear hug Will McMartin for that article I would!!

I feel refreshed after reading the truth about BC Rail on a site other than yours Mary...it means the countless hours you've spent trying to get the truth out has not been wasted.

I'm doing the *happy dance* for the first time in heaven only knows how long! Huge hugs to both of you!

The Saying "What goes round comes round" now it's time for the BC People to kick these gutless vermin, "BC Fiberal's" out and possibly charge them with "Treason" against the people of BC?
Wikipedia: In law, treason is the crime of disloyalty to one's nation. A person who betrays the nation of their citizenship and/or reneges on an oath of loyalty and in some way willfully cooperates with an enemy, is considered to be a traitor. Oran's Dictionary of the Law (1983) defines treason as: "...[a]...citizen's actions to help a foreign government overthrow, make war against, or seriously injure the [parent nation]." In many nations, it is also often considered treason to attempt or conspire to overthrow the government, even if no foreign country is aided or involved by such an endeavour.

Enemy or foreign corporations!

Great work from Mr. Mcmartin...I have sent his story to all the big names in our BC Media and dared them to report the truth..

As an avid watcher of the legisture I was aware of all the money BC Rail, and aware of the high speed upgrades to tracks.

And yes, shocked by the MSM for not reporting the truth,to allow Transportation mininster after transportation minister to lie!

In my opinion some politicians should be in jail for breaking the public trust and deliberate distortion..

Lastly..Will mcmartin,the numbers KING....

The man just utterly rocks,Leah, can I hug Will McMartin first?

Cheers

Now who will play Will McMartin's part when we turn our attention to Madam Justice Anne MacKenzie's ruling which

forbids us from knowing or even asking about the evidence given at the BC Rail Trial,

or even describing the colour of the Crown Prosecutor's socks.

ONLY BY ATTENDING THE SESSIONS WILL WE BE ABLE TO SEE AND HEAR W.T.F. GOES ON IN THE PEOPLE'S COURT.

How's that for "Justice being seen to be done ...?"

Presumably anyone identified as a correspondent for a publication outside of Canada that publishes such information will be banned from the courtroom. But how can someone who's publishing in a jurisdiction beyond that of the court be held accountable to a ban that can only apply within that court's jurisdiction? Unless the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court of British Columbia is global....

I would hope the US Security and Exchange Commission or the Joint Congressional Committee on International Trade will be sending observers, since this is a case involving a US company being encouraged to bribe officials of a friendly country......

It might, perhaps, take charges laid against someone for violating this ban and/or challenging the ban in the Supreme Court of Canada, to get this into the national-level media. Or, perhaps, charges laid against a foreign reporter for publishing information on the proceedings somewhere outside the geographic limits of the BCSC's jurisdiction.

It will be interesting to see if Justice Mackenzie will attempt to charge Google/Blogger with contempt if any blog or other webpage is indexed on Canadian googlespace (google.ca). Perhaps she will try and order google to restrict access to sites outside British Columbia/Canada to Canadians?

This is now no longer a court of justice. It is a star chamber.

Amy Goodman, will you please come back?

Ariana Huffington, would you please sit up and take notice?

Lewis Lapham, where are you?

And as for domestic rabble-rousers, or those who pretend to be:

Rex Murphy, Rick Mercer, Mary Walsh/Madge the Warrior Princess, and all the rest of you publicly-funded comedian-journalists stop making jokes about maple syrup and curling and hicks in plaid jackets and do something meaningful for a change?

Fine article that it is, the regular troops of BC Liberal Cheerleaders can be found commenting upon it in force over at the Tyee - and continuing the lies! It is all so slimey & surreal. They seem not to have the ethical compass that guides the people with whome I choose to associate in my day-to-day life. They care not whether they are lying or not: it is all about winning.
