Dave Basi must wear electronic monitoring device

By Mark Hume
The Globe and Mail - Nov. 15, 2010

Quote:

... Mr. Basi wants the public to have access to information related to his case and will be fighting to retain possession of massive files of government material the defence obtained through disclosure.

“Those documents may shed some light [on the BC Rail privatization deal]. … Dave Basi is passionate about not seeing those documents returned [to the government],” he said.

Mr. Basi declined comment on the issue, saying the fate of the documents is the focus of legal discussions ...

BC Liberals bought and paid for

The conversation gains momentum as the topic of document destruction (or not) comes up. Don't miss Ian Reid on The Real Story talking about that very thing HERE:

Comments:
For giving a media interview? Are you kidding me? What a joke!??Is this real? Can you explain this me? Shouldn't the media be charged as well?

How much did the special prosecutor bill the government about this breach of granting a media interview that they did not like?

I'm working on it, 1:42 ...

All I can figure, so far, is that if the journalist had gone to BASI's house instead of VIRK's house, everything would've been OK. So far as I can understand, the actual content of the TV interview met the sentencing conditions.

In fact, you can watch the damn interview on YouTube, if you want!!!

It's like a little kids' game, isn't it?
.

The latest rumor is, the RCMP want all of the papers, from Basi and Virk regarding, Campbell's corrupt sale of the BCR. The police want to destroy them. If this is indeed true, this stinking pile of odure, is going to reach the moon. If Campbell was so high above board and honest. What's the big flap about?

The absurdity is that the really large issues resulted in punishment that was inconsequential, despite 7 years of "investigation" and "prosecution". For the minor act of speaking to the public, Judge MacKenzie tightens the screws.

She is covering for her own embarrassment, not for the public interest.

The one clear issue is that "somebody" wants to destroy every scrap of evidence relating to how BC Rail slid from public ownership into private pockets.

Anybody (and there are lots of you -- at least 11,000 of you in BC) and everybody who understands how we can put a lock on those documents and protect them for future study ... please stand up now.

No kidding, the end could be nigher than we thought.
.

Mark Hume story I think was the only one mentioning this, I could be wrong. But this is important.

"“He gave this interview at a time when there was tremendous demand from the public for information on why this case was shut down,” said Mr. Geoghegan.

He said Mr. Basi wants the public to have access to information related to his case and will be fighting to retain possession of massive files of government material the defense obtained through disclosure.

“Those documents may shed some light [on the BC Rail privatization deal] . . . Dave Basi is passionate about not seeing those documents returned [to the government],” he said.

Mr. Basi declined comment on the issue, saying the fate of the documents is currently the focus of legal discussions.

-----I am trying to think in what circumstances disclosure documents would have to returned to the Crown. certainly the Gov. would have NO authority to have them returned, hmmmmmppppp

E.M.,

I picked up on that comment, too. It was made by Mike Geoghegan.

I say, "Good luck on that one, Dave Basi."
.

Basi wants disclosure? LOL!!! Thats FUNNY!

Neither Basi NOR the Fiberals want disclosure. That is why the trial was shut down and the ridiculously offensive plea bargin forged where Basi doesnt have to pay a dime for his the 14M legal tab even though guilty as SIN.

I am ashamed to be a BCer. I hope and pray IDA CHONG is recalled. But at what cost? IF only to elect an NDPer, then might as well leave CHONG in place.

Better corruption than incompetance.

.
Have you heard me say this before: "I thought I had seen everything, but ..."

Well today, at the bottom of the online page in Vancouver Sun's story

Judge orders Dave Basi to wear monitoring device for breaching sentence
November 16, 2010 ...

there are three commercial advertisements apparently aimed at the convicted criminal clientele. No kidding:

1) SCRAMx Ankle Bracelet
2) Beautiful ankle bracelets from Heavenly Treasures
3) Canadian Pardon Services

Sheesh ... ! I hope to gosh I can say I've seen it all now.
.

Hm. I'm sold, I'll take a No. 2.
