Vancouver Sun: Campbell's Order of B.C. a 'slap in the face'

.
Tim Janzen of North Vancouver had his Letter to the Editor (below) published in Vancouver Sun on September 12, 2011. Tim is responding to this dingbat diatribe: Re: Gordon Campbell's Order of B.C. honour draws ire of critics, Sept. 6. More letters like Tim's, sent to many newspapers and blogs, will make the difference. I predict that the Campbell mistake will be rescinded before the formal investiture ceremony at Government House, Victoria, on October 4, 2011.

Tim wrote:

Readers object to Gordon Campbell's Order of B.C. for many reasons, including his handling of the BC Rail scandal and his impaired driving charge.

At first when I heard this I thought it to be a hoax, but to reward someone who is arguably the most unpopular premier in B.C. history an award such as this does nothing but diminish its value.

It makes me physically sick. It's bad enough he's our high commissioner in England, do we really deserve this slap in the face?

Blessings upon the reader we know only as E.M., who finds these treasures for us. Now we, too, can write polite but particularly pointed Letters to Editors about the impropriety of awarding an Order of B.C. to Gordon Campbell. Thank you, E.M.

Someone wrote a comment to the above Story "It appears that Chief Justice has reading comprehension problems which is most worrisome. On the Order of BC site:

http://www.orderofbc.gov.bc.ca/nominations/

it quite plainly states:
"There are a couple of exceptions.
Your nominee must not currently be an elected person with federal, provincial or municipal governments."

"Nominee' (not "Appointee" as he has tried to spin it) must NOT CURRENTLY be.....

Truth is Campbell was indeed 'currently' an elected official at the time of the nomination!

He cannot legally be awarded the OBC this year.

I agree!!!!!

Comments:
As has been shown time and time again, the BC LiEberals ruin everything their hands touch.
They have absolutely no class, no honour comprehension, think lies are what the public needs and seem hell bent on ruining the province for the benefit a select few.

By 2013, I can see that all BC Liberal MLA's will each need a police security detail to protect them from an irate public who is totally fed up with the corruption in the BC Legislature.

Thank you.

The OBC has certainly spoiled the occasion, for the others who really deserve the award, by naming someone as corrupt as Campbell. There are good decent BC citizens, who deserve the OBC, far and above, Campbell and the other three misfits.

Campbell was in three terms, because, he lied and deceived his way, into two different election wins.

We also know, how corrupt justice is in BC too, we have seen that many times.

The BCR trial is one of the worst, sleaziest judicial injustices in all of Canada's history. So, I guess it is no real surprise, the Chief Justice would name Campbell.

Campbell has not one saving grace. He needs one credential, to have with him in England.

Thanks for the support BC Mary. Please ask your readers and sign this petition and share the link. We are still fighting to have this award rescinded.

Who do Betty Fox and Gordon Campbell have in common?

Both received the OBC. That is where the similarities end.

Curious that 2010 The nomination cutoff was March, 2 months later than the norm.of course the Year of the Olympics, and John Furlong was nominated (and on the nomination Group for 2011) Being that The Olympics was in February, could that be why they waited till March so They could add The Plympics to Mr. Furlongs Bio?

Off topic here, but did You know that Gordon Campbell was having renovations done on his and Nancy;s(snort snort) Half moon Bay home?
http://thetyee.ca/News/2011/08/22/Worker-Death-Campbells-Home/
This was July 2011 8787 Redrooffs Road in idyllic Halfmoon Bay. The waterfront house is also getting new windows, exterior siding, a studio out-building and boathouse. It is the Sunshine Coast vacation property of ex-Premier Gordon Campbell and wife Nancy.
Unfortunately a Man died, Could They be fixing it up to sell?
