Subject: "Norway's Injunction Kills Free Speech!"

Here's a new blog on the injunction sought by the Norwegian Government and Cermaq - don't let Norway kill free speech!

Read "Norway's Injunction Kills Free Speech!" online here!

If successful, the injunction would outlaw bumper stickers like ‘Friends Don’t Let Friends Eat Farmed Salmon’ and 'Wild Salmon Don't Do Drugs' and truthful statements corroborated by peer-reviewed science such as ‘Salmon Farming Spreads Disease’ and ‘Salmon Farming Kills Wild Baby Salmon’.

Here's the injunction in full:

"Norway now rivals China in its abuse of freedom of speech and the Draconian measures sought to suppress dissent," said Don Staniford of the Global Alliance Against Industrial Aquaculture (GAAIA). "The Norwegian Government, via their state ownership of Cermaq, is abusing the Canadian courts to muzzle global criticism of Norwegian-owned salmon farming. Norway’s reputation as a champion of free speech now lies in the gutter along with the Nobel Peace Prize it awarded in 2010 to the Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo. Shame on Norway, shame on Cermaq!.....This injunction is not worth the paper it is written on and is a slap in the face to people all over the world who have the right to speak out against salmon farming. Cermaq is a scream!"

Wow Mary!
Of course what follows is that all health warnings on cigarette packs be banned, all ingredients on food labels should immediately be removed, the organic industry must be challenged and stopped for promoting healthy practices and of all things alchohol must be served to minors.
All literature about the harmfull effects of asbestos must be removed and any reference of eating habits related to obesity and diabetes must be stricken from our sight.
We must now ahdere to any and all wisdom on health concerns as deemed correct by the norwegian government. Okay?
Don

P.S. Hope you are feeling better!
Don

Ha! They didn't take you into account when Judge Adair came up with that ruling.

I can see the new pickets and bumper stickers now!

Bravo!

Feeling marginally better, thank you, but not great yet.

Really enjoyed your comment. Will you do a "Free BC Mary" campaign if they decide to haul me off to one of the new prisons?

With absolute certainty Mary if they don't come for me first!
Don

The Norwegians had the gall, to divert a river to their dirty oil sands project. They have not one lick of respect for our eco systems. I doubt that will matter to the government...After all they permit the filthy diseased Norwegian fish farms to kill off our wild salmon.

Information supplied by the MSC to the Met has led to the arrest and bailing of nine current and former Sun journalists, two police officers, an MoD employee and a member of the armed forces in relation to alleged illegal payments to public officials in the past three weeks.

The latest arrests of five senior Sun journalists on Saturday has led to near civil war at News International's Wapping HQ, with editorial staff accusing the MSC of throwing them "to the wolves". Journalists at News International say they feel "angry and betrayed".

The MSC was set up in July and operates independently of the Sun and other News International titles, reporting directly to News Corp in New York. But it has been on the back foot in the past week with barely concealed anger across all three Murdoch titles. The Times today weighed in with a comment piece attacking the MSC by leading human rights lawyer Geoffrey Robertson.

Scotland Yard has also extended its inquiry into alleged illegal payments by News International journalists to include all public servants.

The Met said it "recently uncovered evidence of suspected corruption by public officials who are not former or serving police officers" and has therefore "expanded its terms of reference".

In a statement issued on Wednesday it also confirmed that Operation Elveden was confined to News International titles.

"The public expects the police and public officials to behave in a certain way – professionally, ethically and with the utmost integrity – and the MPS has a duty to investigate evidence that indicates suspected criminal behaviour," the Met said.

"The unauthorised disclosure of information in return for payment is illegal and will be robustly investigated. That includes those who seek to corrupt or act as a conduit to aid corruption, which is also illegal."

Scotland Yard added that Operation Elveden is an "incredibly complex inquiry" and it is "of significant public interest" that anyone identified as being involved in wrongdoing would "receive the full weight of appropriate action through the criminal courts and/or disciplinary action".

They have found diseased fish farms, in the Maritimes now.

The Norwegians also diverted a river, to their dirty tar sands projects. They have not one lick of respect for our eco systems, what-so-ever.

Norway's filthy diseased fish farms, should be ripped out, everywhere they have them.

Norwegians should be kicked out of Canada. They should have their, dirty fish farms in their own sea, and stay the hell out of our country.

Nice post which the Norwegian Government, via their state ownership of Cermaq, is abusing the Canadian courts to muzzle global criticism of Norwegian-owned salmon farming. Norway’s reputation as a champion of free speech now lies in the gutter along with the Nobel Peace Prize it awarded in 2010 to the Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo. Thanks a lot for posting this article.
